Hino 5.1 litre common-rail diesel
The 5.1 litre inline four cylinder Hino J05E engines used in the High Horsepower 300 Series trucks produce the most power in their class, without sacrificing fuel efficiency or emissions.
The J05E-UH engine, tuned for compatibility with the 300 Series 920 manual transmission variant, delivers 189Hp (139kW) and 510Nm of torque. With an extremely flat torque curve and from low engine speeds it provides maximum engine torque from 1500rpm all the way through to 2600rpm.
The class leading J05E-UJ engine used in the 300 Series 921 automatic transmission model generates a massive 205Hp (151kW) at 2,600rpm and 600Nm of torque from 1500rpm.
J05E engines achieve Euro 5 emissions compliance along with power and efficiency through the use of the latest generation Hino common-rail fuel injection, Variable Nozzle Turbocharger (VNT) technology and a Hino Diesel Particulate active Reduction system (DPR). All proven technology, to deliver a class leading 300 Series engine.
Hino 300 High Horsepower models come with a column stalk operated exhaust brake as standard. Both engines use an overhead cam shaft with four valves per cylinder for efficient breathing. They also use an under square bore and stroke of 112 x 130mm providing a low revving maximum torque engine to meet the demands of any customers’ needs.
Cruise Control
Sets the vehicle to the designated speed, usually resulting in better fuel efficiency. This reduces fatigue in day to day metropolitan haul applications.
Vehicle Stability Control (VSC)
A compulsory safety feature on new passenger vehicles, the new Hino 300 Series is the first light duty truck in Australia to include life-saving Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) as standard equipment.
VSC acts as an additional layer of safety by applying selective braking to individual wheels, assisting the driver in maintaining control of the vehicle.
It incorporates traction control, and is designed to help prevent the vehicle from skidding out of control should it deviate from the driver's intended path through a corner.
It is recognised by experts across the world as being active safety technology that saves lives.
The VSC and traction control system can be switched off - to assist in control of the drive wheel traction when the vehicle is in muddy conditions by spinning the drive tyres to clear the tread.
